What Finny does better

Finny is the closest app to ours in philosophy and price, and it is good. Batch receipt scanning, voice entry, natural-language input, Apple Pay tracking, 150+ currencies with live rates, and a free tier that covers unlimited manual tracking. Its annual plan is cheaper than ours. It ships today, which ours does not.

Where it is weaker

It is iPhone only, with no Android app at all. It has no net worth tracking and no financial independence projection — it tells you where your money went, not when you can stop working.

What TLDR Money does that Finny does not

A financial independence projection. Finny tells you where your money went. TLDR Money connects that to the year your investments could cover your spending permanently — the same arithmetic as our free FIRE calculator, running on your real numbers rather than estimates.

Net worth in the same app. Assets and liabilities you maintain, feeding straight into that projection.

Android. Finny does not exist on Android at all. TLDR Money ships on both platforms from launch.

Choose Finny if

You are on an iPhone, you want the best manual tracker available right now, and you do not care about net worth or a FIRE date.

Choose TLDR Money if

You want your spending, your net worth and your financial independence date in one place; you would rather not hand any app your banking credentials; and you can wait for it to launch.

Common questions

Is TLDR Money a Finny alternative?
It is the closest comparison on this site — same philosophy, same monthly price, same refusal to connect to a bank. The differences are that TLDR Money adds net worth tracking and a FIRE projection and ships on Android, and that Finny has multi-currency support and, critically, actually exists today.
Does Finny have an Android app?
No. Finny is iPhone only. If Android is your phone, it is not an option at all, which is the single largest practical difference between the two.
Which is cheaper, Finny or TLDR Money?
The monthly price is identical at $3.49. Finny is cheaper annually at $24.99 against $29.99. On price alone Finny wins on the annual plan, and we would rather say so than pretend the $5 does not exist.
Does Finny track multiple currencies?
Yes, 150+ with live exchange rates. TLDR Money uses one currency per account with no conversion at all. If you earn or travel across currencies, Finny is genuinely better suited and this is not a close call.
